Bison-Thing Identification

As you may have read, Rekabek sent me some new friends recently. I have been referring to them as bison, but I am not sure that is correct. I am leaning more toward wildebeest at the moment. What do you think?

Here's a shot I managed to take of them while they were grazing in the yard. Apologies for the poor quality, but they've been charging me lately, so I was a little nervous...

huzzah! musk oxen it is, then! you canadians are impressively quick on the draw. personally, i blame the inadequate public schooling system here in the US for my failure in proper musk ox identification.OR i could just be really lazy.either way, thanks! MYSTERY SOLVED.

Musk oxen -- EXCELLENT! Very definitely in the category of "Wild Animals" as labeled. Now, surely someone needs to ask... exactly what are those silvery antler-like things also pictured near your herd?

Yeah, those are fidgety creatures. Getting them into a Priority Mail flat rate envelope was not easy.

carroll: i was wondering if anyone would notice! those are metal coral-shaped drawer pulls that i picked up at Anthropologie.i thought they looked vaguely tree-like, so i plugged a few of 'em into the ground. they ended up looking more like shrubbery, but oh well. :)
