Oops! I Forgot A Resolution.
Cooking. I need to learn how to cook things. I'm a little sick of nachos.
And by sick, I mean that I'm considering finding a tortilla chip factory and setting it on fire.
Either that or crash a guacamole truck into it.

Cooking is deceptively easy. Nachos are deceptively gut-destroying. I applaud your erudite decision making. By the by: epicurious.com has recipes for anything you'd ever want to eat. Avoid anything called "7 can soup" or "9 can caserole" or "I can't feel my legs now."
You could also take the opposite route and just start making your own tortilla chips and guacamole. If you're really good, you'll grow your own corn and avocados, too. Learning how to make junk food from scratch gives you a whole new appreciation for the industrial revolution.Did I ever tell you about the time I tried to make home-made marshmallows and wound up with a broken mixer and a batch of home-made Charleston Chews instead? It's true... Of course, my approach to cooking is, if you mess up, just dip everything in chocolate and call it dessert. You'd be surprised how often that works.
Ooh! Ooh! I have cooking advice too, try cooksillustrated.com. Yes, you have to pay to access most of the content, but every single recipe I've used from there has turned out beautifully. Plus they EXPLAIN why they do things a certain way or use certain ingredients. And they do experiments (well, ok, basically just cooking trials/taste tests) to find out if you really need to use expensive salt/fresh whatever/make your own pie crust/let it rest overnight etc. etc. If you're like me and want to know the "why"s, you'll like it.Cooking advice #2: Be brave and learn from your mistakes - if you can do this, you can be a good cook (and possibly a good person?)
