Photo Essay: Things My Friends Have Given Me Recently
OR: A Not Very Subtle Attempt To Get People To Give Me More Stuff
My pal Space Nakji gave me a scarf with an otter on it. Holla!

Rebecca gave me some CDs

And a map!

And some bison. I wasn't very sure about the bison at first.
But then we became friends and everything was ok.

I have awesome friends.

I dunno, Hobo -- those look more kinda like Beefalo to me. Or raccoons. With oddly yellow backs and longer than usual legs. Strange.
When you come to Santa Cruz, I will give you...an excellent ice cream cone!
carroll: you will be pleased to know that you've taught me a new word. i knew about zorses and wolphins and geeps, but beefalo is a new one for me. thanks!
definitely not raccoons - i'll take pics later tonight.
also, i can't believe that i've stayed across the street from marianne's numerous times now and have never once had ice cream. i think it's fate.
i'm gonna have to let you buy me an ice cream cone.
Hmm...I'll have to google those wolphins and geeps, but in the meantime you might enjoy these:

Oops, I meant to give you the packaging for those animals because it was so mysterious and funny. They were not labeled as anything in particular. The package just said "Wild Animals." On the reverse side were brief descriptions of four different animals, none of which were anything like bison.
It's good that you have become friends with them. Probably helps them with their identity crisis. Crises.
You need something from New Zealand, I just know it!
carroll: those are fantastic! thanks!
rekabek: just "wild animals", eh? now i'm curious as to what the descriptions were! i'll post photos soon, and maybe we can figure out what they're supposed to be. i'm pretty sure they're not bison, though. maybe wildebeests?
san nakji: i totally do! how did you know?
New Zealand, yes! Get San to send you a tuatara!!
I would like some bison. How does one score bison?
Tuatara? No, I am keeping those for my BBQ!
moose: i'm guessing either a very large net or on Shagginess (ha ha!)
san nakji: i just googled tuataras, and i can't imagine why you'd want to eat one. seems like it would be similar to eating a broken lightbulb wrapped in leather.
And?
Moose: you can score Bison at your local dollar store.
